I travelled USA with my two sons for 3 weeks.
When I visited Washington I took the change to meet the collegues from WEF-Water Environmental Federation and AWWA-America Water Association.
I learned that the US has 160 AWWA Water Standards, only few in wastewater.
Germany has 530 Water Standards (DVGW 230, DWA 300).
Research Funds are very little compared to Germany.
Energy is getting cheap in the US due the fracking situation. Energy is more expensive in Germany. US companies do have little know how about the European Standards (CEN) as far as I can see that. The collegues are very friendly, open and we will stay in contact.
working more and more international I decided in September 2014 to start with an own website. Working more than 30 years in the German Water Sector and many of this time together with international partners it´s time to share more information to those who are interested in my life and work.
I´m working with the German Association for Water, Wastewater and Waste (DWA) as Head od Training and International Cooperation. Being tralling more than 60 countries in the world and always looking for the environment – the water problems I would like to share my experiences more to collegues and freinds around the globe.
In future I will blog short stories, events, news from the German and international water sector. The world of water is my life, in training and international cooperation.
Enjoy this blog.
